ASSIGNMENT TITLE: AGRA Mali Media Stringer Consultant
LOCATION OF ASSIGNMENT: Mali
CLIENT: ALLIANCE FOR A GREEN REVOLUTION IN AFRICA (AGRA)

Background:
AGRA is an alliance led by Africans with roots in farming communities across the continent. We understand that African farmers need uniquely African solutions designed to meet their specific environmental and agricultural needs so they can sustainably boost production and gain access to rapidly growing agriculture markets. We are catalyzing an inclusive agricultural transformation by increasing incomes and improving food security for 30 million farming households in 11 focus countries by 2021.

Expectations:
AGRA Mali media stringer must be able to do the following:
1. Research, interview and put together comprehensive stories in the sector on any topic relevant to what is happening in the agriculture landscape, nuanced to the countries we operate in and relevant to the crops and value chains that AGRA supports.
2. Have a better-than-average grasp (or interest) of what the challenges and opportunities of smallholder agriculture are (generally and specifically in the countries in which they operate) and the linkages between policy (or lack of it), trade, health, poverty and malnutrition and the impact this may have on agriculture and small holder livelihoods.
3. Have excellent networks and collaborations with key forums that curate and amplify such messages.
4. Well networked in the country to be able to directly seek and get appointments with the stakeholders in the country for discourse and
insights sharing and seeking
