TOR Research Technician Bamako (band B) [Pour le programme Systèmes de production des zones sèches (Dryland Systems Program)]
Responsibilities:
To supervise on-farm participatory action research in the Sikasso region in Mali, South and South-West Burkina Faso and potentially, northern Ghana
To travel within the participating communities and providing technical support to men and women groups, Lead Farmers and Farmers in the communities
Assist scientists and research assistants to conduct and manage field trials
To interact with the farmers, researchers and ICRISAT partners in the sites
To record scientific data, collect information about the farmers and groups 
Undertake data entry and analysis
Supervise field workers and other support staff
Assist with the procurement and distribution of inputs for trials
Assist in training of extension agents, lead farmers, students and visiting trainees
Carry out any other task assigned by the supervisor
Requirements
A minimum of BSc Agriculture or related discipline
A minimum of three (3) years of post-qualification experience working in or with an (international) agricultural research organization and/or development organization in Mali
Experience in interacting with (women) farmer groups
Demonstrated computer skills (especially word processing and spreadsheet) and a basic knowledge of statistics and experimental design
Interest and ability to work in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams
Experience with on-farm participatory research, extension and the use of media tools is an advantage
Candidate must be honest, hardworking
Willingness to travel as per needs of the job
Good interpersonal and communication skills with pleasing personality
Fluency in Bambara (written and spoken) and basic command of English is an advantage
Possession of valid driving license is added advantage
